Dear Roosevelt Families,

The leaves have fallen, the rainy season is here, and chilly temperatures are taking over. It is important we all do our best to keep our bodies healthy during these winter months, allowing our students to be Attendance H.E.R.O.s:

Here. Every day. Ready. On-Time. –

As a school and a district we have attendance goals. We know that students have the best opportunity to learn when they are at school, engaging in the lessons and activities their teachers have prepared to support them as they grow.

A key goal for our school is to have our students attending 90% of the time or more. That means missing only 18 days in the entire school year, or an average of two days each month. We have a team of staff members focused on helping students improve attendance who are not yet able to meet that goal. We do daily check-ins, pair older students with younger students to mentor and check-in, and provide classroom incentives for classes meeting these goals. You as parents/guardians are essential in helping our school reach its goal each year. I feel it is important to share with you how we have done in the past and how we are doing so far this year.

Our bell rings at 8:20am and students are expected to be entering class, ready to learn. Please help them by arriving no later than 8:20am each day. With your help, I know that our students can help our school reach our Attendance Goals for this school year. I truly appreciate all you do as parents/guardians to support your child’s learning!

Sincerely,
Megan Vickery, Principal
