Welcome back, Roosevelt Families!

With the start of August, we have a whirlwind of things happening here at Roosevelt! We are welcoming some new staff and everyone is eager to get to know their new students! This is a year of transition in my house with two children entering high school for the first time, one child in middle school and the youngest entering middle school – life is definitely busy! It is important to remember to take time and enjoy the little moments with the ones you love.

As you come back to school, you will notice some changes to the front walkway at Roosevelt. Several trees were removed so the concrete path could be repaired. It is our hope that this work will wrap up just as school is starting. However, we always have to plan for the unexpected. Please be patient and watch for any traffic changes to morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up during those first days of school.

We have our Back to School event scheduled for August 28th from 4:00-5:00 pm. This is a great chance to be able to meet your child’s teacher and see the classroom. We will also have time at Curriculum Night for you to talk more with your teacher about the learning that is happening inside the classroom. Curriculum Night for grades 1-5 will be Thursday, September 14th and Kindergarten will be on Thursday, September 21st. I hope you will be able to join us.

I am looking forward to another wonderful year!
